Nevada’s oldest and largest physician-led advocacy organization Nevada State Medical Association, named Hematologist/Oncologist Sowjanya Reganti, MD of Reno, is recently named President-Elect of the organization.

Dr. Reganti is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Oncology. She received her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from The University of Bangalore, Sri Siddhartha Medical College in Tumkur, India, in 2000. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. She completed her fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Loyola University, Cardinal Benardin Cancer Center in Maywood, IL. Dr. Reganti joined Cancer Care Specialists in August 2008. 

During her medical training in the United States, Dr. Reganti received many honors, including being named Fellow of the Year for her excellence in clinical instruction and education, the Chairman’s Award, the Ambulatory Care Award, and the Spirit Award. Dr. Reganti is a very active member of the Reno medical community. She served as President of the Washoe County Medical Society in 2016 and is an active member of executive committees in Reno area hospitals.
