Nevada Heart and Vascular LLP Inks $8.5 Million Contract to Provide Cardiology Services at UMC

University Medical Center (UMC), the county-owned Hospital, continues its cardiology services with the Nevada Heart and Vascular Center, a premier cardiovascular group with multiple locations around Southern Nevada and over thirty physicians on staff. Physicians of South Asian origin, mostly Indian-American though, own close to 40% of the Nevada Heart and Vascular.
UMC, the county-owned Hospital, will compensate Nevada Heart and Vascular $135,166 per month for professional services and approximately $78,000 per month for Medical Directorship services from January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2026, with two (2), 1-year extension options, with a five-year total compensation of $8,500,000.
As per the contract, NV Heart & Vascular will provide emergency and on-call services with consultative coverage on a 24/7 basis to treat the Hospital’s unassigned patients per the schedule maintained by Medical Staff.
The agreement calls for NV Heart & Vascular to provide professional services in the best interest of the Hospital’s patients with all due diligence and provide full‐time 24/7/365 coverage to Unassigned Patients (requiring a minimum of 2.5 FTEs inclusive of all onsite coverage, invasive‐interventional clinical services, electrophysiology clinical services, ECHO and EKG read services and all call coverage requirements) to include examination, assessment, diagnosis, medical intervention, follow‐up inpatient care and discharge in a professional manner in the best interest of patients and in accordance with community standards.
