Indian-American Reuben D’Silva is seeking a third term as a Nevada Assemblymember, continuing his commitment to public service and community representation. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Education Committee and is a member of the Government Affairs and Revenue Committees. During the most recent legislative session, Assemblymember D’Silva played a key role in introducing legislation to officially recognize Diwali, Eid, Vaisakhi, and Vesak as state holidays in Nevada. The measure was ultimately vetoed by Governor Joe Lombardo, reflecting prevailing political considerations.
From 2004 to 2008, D’Silva, a Purple Heart recipient and graduate of Rancho High School, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and Yale University, served in Iraq with the United States Marine Corps. D’Silva was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon, is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was named Southern Nevada Teacher of the Year.
Assemblymember Hanadi Nadeem, a Pakistani-American physician and Democratic lawmaker representing Nevada’s Assembly District 34, has announced her candidacy for a second term in the Nevada Legislature, continuing her work on issues ranging from healthcare access to election integrity. Nadeem, first elected in November 2024, made history as the first Muslim woman elected to the Nevada State Assembly, winning a competitive race in the Las Vegas-area district that includes Summerlin and parts of western Clark County.
During her freshman term, Nadeem has served on key committees including Health and Human Services, Judiciary, and Legislative Operations and Elections, bringing her professional experience as a healthcare provider to the Legislature’s deliberations.

This event is an opportunity to come together with community members and supporters who believe in strong representation from growing South Asian community of Southern Nevada. Your support will help ensure that Assemblymembers D’Silva and Nadeem can continue advocating for their constituents and working on the issues that matter most to our community.
