Dr. Aury Nagy, M.D., a distinguished neurosurgeon and a proud resident of Las Vegas for the past 50 years, invites the public, community leaders, and supporters to join him for his campaign kick-off announcement party on Thursday, June 26 at Paymon’s Fresh Kitchen, located at 8380 West Sahara Ave., Las Vegas.

Dr. Nagy is launching his candidacy with an ambitious vision to bring lasting prosperity to Southern Nevada. A well-respected figure in the medical field, Dr. Nagy brings over 20 years of experience caring for patients in Southern Nevada. Born in New York and raised in Las Vegas, he carries on a family legacy of medical service. His father, Dr. Nafees Nagy, was Southern Nevada’s first oncologist, and together with his mother, Dr. Shamim Nagy, laid the foundation for a lifetime of medical care for growing Southern Nevada. 

Dr. Nagy is politically active as the Founder of the White Coat Party in Nevada a grassroots organization comprising healthcare professionals—including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and therapists—dedicated to reforming the state’s healthcare system. Their mission is to address systemic issues by supporting legislation that benefits both providers and patients. They aim to amplify the voices of healthcare workers in policymaking, ensuring that those directly involved in patient care have a say in shaping healthcare laws.

Dr. Nagy is a proud graduate of Bishop Gorman High School. He earned a degree in Economics from Yale University and received his medical degree from Baylor University. He completed his neurosurgical residency at George Washington University and a fellowship in neurosurgery at Louisiana State University.

His commitment to Nevada’s healthcare system is well known. He has held numerous leadership roles, including serving as President of the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners until August 2024.
