Indian-American Community of Las Vegas Holds Candlelight Vigil for Victims of Terrorist Attack in Kashmir

More than 50 members of the Indian-American community gathered Sunday evening at the iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign to hold a candlelight vigil in memory of the victims of a recent terrorist attack in Kashmir, India.
Organized by local Indian-Americans – Baba Anal, Ashok Goyal and Deven Singh, the vigil began with the chanting of the Hindu prayer “Om Bhur Bhuvaḥ Swaḥ,” led by Baba Anal. The solemn ceremony included the lighting of a traditional lamp, followed by attendees carrying incense sticks, as symbols of remembrance, peace, and resilience to honor the lives lost in the vicious terrorist attack in Kashmir, India.
The location was chosen deliberately for its visibility and symbolic significance. “This spot represents not just Las Vegas, but also the spirit of unity and resilience,” said Deven Singh.
“We come together tonight to pray for peace and healing – not just for the victims and their families, but for all communities affected by terrorism,” said Ashok Goyal.
Organizers hoped that gathering at the world-renowned Las Vegas landmark would raise broader awareness and demonstrate solidarity with the victims of senseless violence & terrorist attacks around the world. Attendees stood in silent tribute, many holding placards denouncing terrorism against Hindu community.
