Medical Malpractice Lawsuit filed Against Dr. Snehal Rohit Desai

Ms. Delmy Arevalo, patient of Dr. Snehal Rohit Desai filed a medical malpractice lawsuit alleging that Dr. Desai did not remove a stent he was supposed to get rid of during the surgery.  Dr. Snehal Desai is a former employee of Dr. Dipak Desai.

 

The complaint states that Dr. Desai failed to utilize the requisite standard of care and treatment of Ms. Arevalo.  It is also alleged that Dr. Desai failed to follow the applicable standard of care and directly thereby caused injuries to Ms. Arevalo by failing to remove all the foreign objects from the body.

In June 2012, Ms. Arevalo underwent Esophagogastroduodenosopy  with “bile duct stent removal” at Sunrise Hospital performed by Dr. Snehal Desai.  Subsequent to the procedure performed by Dr. Desai, Ms. Arevalo continue to experience pain and discomfort.  In October 2012, MRI was performed on Ms. Arevalo which revealed a stent in the bile duct which was supposed to be removed by Dr. Desai.

The complaint alleges that Dr. Desai failed to remove the foreign substance, in this case – stent, from the bile duct.  Ms. Arevalo was unaware that stent remained in her body.  Patinet Ms. Arevalo is accusing Dr. Desai that as a direct result of the negligence, carelessness, recklessness of Dr. Desai, she has suffered serious injuries which resulted in further medical treatment and hospitalization.

Dr. Desai is a graduate of of University of Alberta, Alberta, Canada and got his license to practice medicine in Nevada in February 2004.  Dr. Desai completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia, Canada.
