Dr. Pavan Kumar Janapati Settles with the Medical Board
In March of this year, the Investigative Committee of the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners filed a complaint charging Dr. Pavan Janapati with violating the Nevada Medical Practices Act. The two-count complaint alleges Dr. Janapati of medical malpractice and failure to maintain complete medical records of a patient.
Per the agreement, Dr. Janapati has admitted to failure to maintain complete medical records and will reimburse the cost and expenses, totaling $7,868, incurred in investigation and prosecution related to this allegation. Dr. Janapati agrees to pay a $3,000 fine within 60 days of acceptance of this agreement by the Medical Board. Additionally, Dr. Janapati shall perform 5 hours of continuing education credit in medical record keeping.
Dr. Janapati will receive a public letter of reprimand for his actions, and the agreement will be reported to the appropriate entities, including but not limited to the National Practitioner Data Bank.
The remaining count of the complaint, specifically medical malpractice, is dismissed with prejudice.
Dr. Pavan Janapati, M.D., is a Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences graduate from Bangalore, India. Janapati completed a residency in Internal Medicine from the University Medical Center (UMC), Las Vegas, NV.
