At a recently held Clark County Commission meeting, Chairman Tick Segerblom proclaimed July a Muslim American Heritage Month in Clark County. The Commission honored Farrah Acheson as an exceptional Muslim American citizen to celebrate the same.

“We demonstrate our deep appreciation of the Muslim community and stand in solidarity against prejudice and discrimination,” said Segerblom during the proclamation announcement.

In recognizing Farrah, Commissioner Segerblom introduced Farrah as a native of India and a Chair of the Muslim Caucus, where she is the voice of the Muslim community in the political arena. Farrah is on the Board of a local Las Vegas Masjid and has owned and operated a successful jewelry business for the past 15 years.

In accepting the honor, Farrah said, “This has been a great honor, actually Clark County accepting Muslims and showing that we are an inclusive city that means a lot to all of us”.
