Nevada Attorney General Files Criminal Complaint Against Rita Manohar Vaswani
Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford has filed a criminal complaint against Rita Manohar Vaswani and Happy Adult Day Care Inc. According to AG Ford’s website, his office works “hard every day to investigate and prosecute crimes, combat fraud and corruption, help consumers, and protect your rights.”
The complaint charges Happy Adult Care and Rita Manohar Vaswani on two counts of failure to provide, secure, and maintain workers’ compensation coverage, a misdemeanor in violation of the Nevada Revised Statutes.
The allegations include the defendant Happy Adult Care Inc. unlawfully acted as an employer by engaging one or more employees to facilitate a business or trade located at 1905 Quail Point Ct., Las Vegas, and failed to provide, secure, or maintain workers’ compensation coverage for those employees as required by the Nevada Industrial Insurance Act and the Nevada Occupational Diseases Act.
As per the public records, Vaswani is the President, while Ms. Bindiya Mahabir is listed as the Director of Happy Adult Care Inc. Currently, Vaswani also serves as the President of the Las Vegas Indian Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Vaswani’s arraignment hearing is scheduled for March. An arraignment hearing is a proceeding in a criminal case where the charges are read to the defendant and they enter a plea of “guilty” or “not guilty.”

Who cares? The entire system of workers compensation is just a scam and extortion of business owners to benefit the attorneys to make money by “representing” so called injured workers. How many people are collecting our tax money while doing nothing constructive due to “on the job injury” or “back pain”? These same people drive 4 wheel trucks with disabled placards and go hiking and rock climbing during the week while honest business people are working.
Mrs. Vaswani has been involved in politics and this appears political to me.
Cannot the Nevada Attorney General spend time prosecuting true crime and corruption in the TENS OF MILLIONS in sweetheart contracts that are awarded every year to relatives and friends and heavy political donors?
Agreed. The system is full of fraud and fraudulent claims which should have priority over this misdemeanor. Shameless hit job by the DA.
Rita Vaswani and her husband are shady characters, as are Mirchandanis. All of them use businesses, government funds, and non-profit organizations to commit fraud. They play unethical and illegal games to make money. They won’t stop until caught and sent to jail. Too bad many in our community support these crooks.
