Ms. R. Patel is found guilty of child abuse and neglect and given a conditional suspended sentence with an informal probation for an indeterminate period not to exceed 18 months. Ms. Patel will not be incarcerated at this time.

As per the agreement Ms. Patel needs to meet the following conditions:

• no use, possession or control of alcohol, marijuana or any other synthetic drugs.
• Status checks every six months with a written report from the Child Protection Services as to Ms. Patel’s compliance with their directives.

The court can revoke the suspension if Ms. Patel is found in possession or control of alcohol, marijuana or any other synthetic cannabinoids (spice) or cathidones (bath salt).  The court has  retained the right to impose the original sentence of 364 days in prison if any of the suspended sentence conditions are violated by Ms. Patel.
