Rashid Jahangir, M.D., Settles with Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners

Anesthesiologist Rashid Jahangir, M.D, was initially charged by the NV State Board of Medical Examiners on one count of medical malpractice and one count of failure to maintain accurate and complete medical records. Due to the charges, Dr. Jahangir was subject to disciplinary action by the Board.
Dr. Jahangir has reached a settlement with the Board to resolve the above charges to avoid the costs of a hearing and potential subsequent litigation. Dr. Jahangir admits to the failure to maintain accurate and complete medical records. Regarding medical malpractice against Dr. Jahangir, the Board has dismissed the charges with prejudice.
Dr. Jahangir has agreed to pay all the costs and expenses incurred in the investigation within 60 days of the acceptance by the Board. Additionally, Dr. Jahangir will receive a public letter of reprimand, and the case will be reported to appropriate entities, including the national practitioner data bank.
Dr. Jahangir is a graduate of Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan. Jahangir completed his residency and internship at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Cleveland, and his Fellowship in Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas.
