Political activist and the former Nevada Chair of Bernie Sanders for President, Dr. Zaffar Iqbal is elected to the Nevada State Democratic Party as 2^nd Vice-Chair.  Iqbal is the Chairman of the Diversity Committee of the Democratic Party.  As a 2^nd Vice-Chair, Iqbal will be actively involved in fundraising, voter registration, and promoting the Democratic party platform and agenda.

Iqbal got actively involved in the local political races in 2016.  At the same time, Iqbal was fully committed to Senator Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign.  Being a Physician, Iqbal supported Senator Bernie for his stand on health care for all Americans.  

Most recently, Iqbal is in a process of forming a political action committee with a goal of involving the Las Vegas Muslim community in the local and national political process.  The PAC is looking forward to voter registration drive, phone banking, and arranging educational political events.
