UNLV Senior Keanni Certeza is this year’s recipient of the Satish Bhatnagar Award and an Outstanding Graduating Senior from UNLV’s acclaimed Department of Dance, College of Fine Arts.  

Most recently, Certeza choreographed a performance under the Department of Dance’s Spring Forward concert by the graduating Bachelor of Fine Arts students. 

As per the Department of Dance narrative, Keanni Certeza was introduced to dance at the local KO Knudson Middle School for the Arts and continued her love of dance at Del Sol Academy.  She is graduating in May 2023 with her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography and BA in Gender and Sexuality Studies.  Certeza hopes to travel and be in a modern or contemporary company with the possibility of incorporating aerial arts.

UNLV Professor, Satish Bhatnagar, established the award to be given to an outstanding senior from the Department of Fine Arts.  Bhatnagar established four awards in the College of Fine Arts to recognize exceptional students in the Arts, Dance, Music, and Theater departments.
